Definitons
A Model Agreements is a standard contract approved by the Parish Council for routine activities such as hiring facilities, using council land, or carrying out small works. It helps to ensure arrangements are fair, consistent, and legally sound, while keeping costs and administration to a minimum. Once approved by the Council, the agreement can be used without change for similar situations, giving residents confidence that the same clear terms apply to everyone.
A Parish Plan sets out the community’s priorities and aspirations for the future of the parish. It is developed with input from residents and highlights what matters locally, such as services, facilities, environment, and community wellbeing. The Plan helps guide the Parish Council’s decisions and actions, and provides a shared reference when working with other organisations and authorities.
A parish council precept is the total amount of money a parish or town council demands from its local billing authority (district or borough council) to be collected via Council Tax to fund its planned budget for the upcoming year. It represents the shortfall between anticipated income and expenditure, acting as the primary funding source for local amenities and services.
